Sweeper brushes for sweepers come in different designs, depending on the type of sweeper and the type of dirt to be swept up.
TYPES OF SWEEPERS:
Sweepers used in indoor areas are often walk-on or ride-on sweepers. They are often equipped with 1 or 2 side brushes that sweep dirt along edges and out of corners. The side brushes throw the dirt in front of the wide main brush, which then throws the dirt into the catch basin.
For outdoor areas, so-called roller broom sweepers are made, which are self-propelled or attached to a vehicle such as a shovel or tractor. Sometimes these machines are equipped with a collection bin. Often, the dirt is also swept to, for example, the side of the site or swept into a heap, after which it is collected. Smaller sweepers often have a one-piece brush, similar to a main brush. In almost all larger roller broom sweepers, the brush consists of a set of brush rings.
FOR WHICH DIRT IS WHICH SWEEPER BRUSH SUITABLE?
The coarseness of the dirt and the extent to which the dirt sticks to the floor or surface determine the composition of the bristles on the sweeping brush.
For example, both side brushes and main brushes with coarse bristles arranged widely on the brush are particularly suitable for sweeping up coarser dirt.
For sweeping up dust and other small and fine dirt, sweeping brushes with thin, closely spaced bristles are suitable.
Then there are for example floors where dirt can adhere strongly, think of workshops or other greasy environments. For these, there are sweeping brushes available in which iron bristles
that are capable of getting such floors clean again.
TYPES OF BRISTLES
Most sweeping brushes are made of synthetic materials such as nylon or polypropylene, which are durable and hard-wearing.
There are also still many sweeping brushes in use with natural fibre materials.
A complete overview of available brush bristles for sweepers can be found in the "brush bristle materials overview".
